The ambientROOM project is one of the main research platforms of the Tangible Media Group. In this project, we explore the use of ambient media as a means of communicating information at the periphery of human perception. The ambientROOM allows users to be aware of background bits using ambient display media such as ambient light, shadow, sound, airflow, water movement in an augmented architectural space.

Part of the ambientROOM involved exploring how to move data between the foreground and the background. For this, I implemented the Data Bottles, which, when uncorked, release sound into the ambient environment. In this way the users can move information between outputs, physically adjusting and controlling their information environment.
